ALPACAS - THE FRIENDLY INVESTMENT

In these uncertain economic times, what does the
Wall Street Journal say about investing in alpacas?

On October 3rd 2008, The Journal said on its front page:
'When stocks tank, some investors stampede to alpacas'.

It also quoted ARI (The Alpaca Registry) as saying that alpaca registrations are up significantly this year.
Typically, when faced with investment uncertainty, investors turn to assets that they can see and touch.

One typical investor - Peggy Parks of Pa - said to The Journal:
"I've lost a fortune in stocks, and my 401(k) is falling through the floor. I feel comfortable in alpacas," she says. She invested $56,000 in a small herd that she believes has a better outlook than most mutual funds because of the animals' breeding potential.

   ARE YOU CONFUSED and DISILLUSIONED?

Are you tired of the roller coaster ride on the stock market?
Does the future look uncertain for your investments?
Do you want an investment you can see, touch, and hold?
Do you want the government to pay for your investment?

If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, you owe it to yourself to look into investing in alpacas.

FACTS:
Alpacas have gained a steady 5% per year in value for the last 20 years.
Breeding of alpacas is controlled by registering their DNA and implanting microchips into each animal, giving comfort and confidence to buyers.
$125,000 of earned income can be sheltered from federal taxes when investing in alpacas (see below).
Alpacas are low maintenance animals costing about $1.50 per day to feed and shelter - about the same as a dog.
New and exciting international markets are being created for alpaca fiber. Blending it with denim provides a new outlet (September 2008) for all the fiber we care to sell.
A mature female alpaca may have 10-20 cria (babies) in her lifetime.
If you own 7 alpacas to begin, you could expect to have 126 after ten years (AOBA statistics)

Investing in Alpacas is different from investing in anything else.

Did you know that The Government passed The Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act in May 2003 to allow small business owners to invest up to $105,000 of their income from other sources in alpaca livestock farming?  In other words, $105,000 of income that would otherwise be taxed, will be tax exempt if invested in alpacas.  AND - investors do not even have to keep the animals on their own property to benefit from this HUGE tax break!
According to experts quoted in the WSJ -
"What can't I write off?  I write off food, water, fences, the guy who cuts the lawn."
R. Bruce, Manhattan.
"Tax Law is certainly working to keep the alpaca industry growing." Susan Post, an accountant and author of 'The Tax Impact of Investing in Alpacas'.
Another says: "A $20,000 investment in alpacas will grow into $100,000 and eventually $1,000,000 by raising these ecologically-friendly animals." Brian Weiner, Ventura County, CA
Alpacas are being called by accountants and tax experts:
"The Government's Fluffiest Tax Break".
Alpacas can be fully insured. You get paid if they die or are killed, and the cost of the premium can be as low as 1.5% of their insured value. If you cover the possible 'downside', what are you left with?  It's really a WIN-WIN situation.
All alpacas are registered, their DNA tested and recorded and microchips implanted in their skin, to protect and prevent fraud or theft.
The alpaca industry is serious about protecting its good name and ensuring the continuation of the success story that is without modern parallel.
A few short years ago, an alpaca sold for a record $80,000; last year Royal Fawn sold for $750,000; and a half share in another, Legacy, sold for $750,000.

Worldwide, the alpaca continues to play an ever-increasing role in the investment market, with exceedingly high individual returns.  The alpaca industry warrants a closer look for anyone looking to diversify their portfolio.

Since the early 80's the alpaca has continued to maintain a secure return on investment.  Worldwide their numbers are low, and unlike other live commodities, the demand for the fine fleece has continued to increase, although it is the reproductive aspect that generates the big returns.

A single healthy female can produce as many as 15 or more cria during her reproductive lifespan. Now that’s a great return on any investment!

At present, there is no other form of livestock that gives the full range of opportunity that the alpaca does.  Their endearing characteristics, coupled with exceptional financial returns, make them the perfect investment for anyone.  There are multiple investment strategies for investing in alpacas, for anyone to select the one that suits their particular situation. We list some elsewhere on this site.
